While yes, we do have an entire page dedicated to Technology News, we felt that there were some articles that warranted additional conversation. So we have highlighted articles that we personally had a beef with or ones that we thought were so important that they should not get dropped like…well…yesterdays news.
This section is dedicated to those golden nuggets of information that people post out there on the internet. Ones that TenacIT advocates or teaches ourselves.
In an effort to maintain our industry credibility we do not accept money for advertising. This is NOT a paid advertisement for the products listed below. We have purchased all of these products with our own personal funds and recommend you go out and buy them your earliest convenience from whomever you prefer.
For many, this section is useless as you are probably well versed in the terms used by company’s like ours and if you are here, you have more than likely clicked o something, OR we have made you question what TenacIT’s definition of something is. That said, there are some whose detailed knowledge of technology terms is only superficial, and rather than assume that everyone doing their due diligence on TenacIT is a technology guru, we have provided a list of some of the more nerdy terms.

Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) is a control system architecture that uses computers, networked data communications and graphical user interfaces for high-level process supervisory management but uses other peripheral devices such as programmable logic controller (PLC) and discrete PID controllers to interface with the process plant or machinery. In short, it a computer application which collects data from the field, and controls instrumentation such a valve. SCADA systems can be independent applications at each individual location (Field, Refinery, etc.) or centrally located in one location controlling assets from multiple locations.
A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is an industrial computer which has been ruggedized and adapted for the control of manufacturing processes, such as assembly lines, or robotic devices, or any activity that requires high reliability control and ease of programming and process fault diagnosis.
